Music Teacher required, Wakefield!

Teacher of Music required in Wakefield to start February 2026 for a temporary contract of 1.5 terms initially until summer working full time, Monday to Friday.

Maze Recruitment Group is seeking a talented and enthusiastic Music Teacher to join a vibrant secondary school in Wakefield. This long-term position is ideal for a passionate educator who can inspire creativity and foster a love of music in students across all abilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Teach Music across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 experience an advantage)
• Plan and deliver engaging, practical, and theory-based lessons
• Support students through performances, ensembles, and extracurricular activities
• Monitor progress and provide constructive feedback
• Contribute to the wider life of the school’s performing arts department

Ideal Candidate:

• Holds QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
• Strong subject knowledge and musical proficiency
• Confident in both classroom teaching and practical music delivery
• Excellent behaviour management and communication skills
• Reliable, enthusiastic, and committed to a long-term role in Leeds
• A minimum of 6 months experience teaching the UK Music curriculum
