They are looking for aTeacher of Health and Social Care to focus on preparing students for successful futures and empowering them to make positive contributions to society, they are dedicated to excellence in teaching and learning in Barnsley.
The role is a long term temporary role with the potential of going permanent for the right candidate. It is the start ASAP and if full time working Monday to Friday.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver dynamic and interactive lessons that cover a range of topics related to health and social care, including anatomy and physiology, human development, mental health, and social issues.
- Utilize a variety of teaching methods and resources to cater to different learning styles and abilities.
- Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment where students feel valued, respected, and motivated to succeed.
- Facilitate practical activities, workshops, and group discussions to enhance students’ understanding and application of theoretical concepts.
- Incorporate real-world case studies, guest speakers, and field trips to provide students with practical insights into the health and social care industry.
- Assess student progress through a combination of formative and summative assessments, and provide constructive feedback to support their development.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary projects and enrichment activities that integrate health and social care education with other subject areas.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, achievement, and progress, and communicate regularly with parents and guardians to provide updates on student performance.
Were looking for someone who:
- Bachelor’s degree in Health and Social Care or related field (PGCE or QTS desirable).
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Proven experience teaching health and social care to students at secondary level or above.
- Sound knowledge of key concepts, theories, and legislation related to health and social care practice.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to inspire and motivate students to engage with complex subject matter and pursue further study or careers in the health and social care sector.
