Maze Recruitment Group are seeking a Primary Teacher for a client school in Leeds. The role is long term to start September 2026 and is full time, Monday to Friday, with possible permanent opportunities for the right candidate, after a qualifying period.
As a Primary Teacher in a Leeds Primary School, you will deliver high-quality teaching and learning across the primary curriculum, create a positive and inclusive classroom environment, manage pupil behaviour, assess and support pupil progress, and collaborate with school staff to support the ethos and objectives of the school.
Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare and deliver engaging, well-structured lessons in line with the national curriculum and school schemes of work.
- Differentiate teaching and learning to meet the needs of all pupils, including those with special educational needs / EAL / higher ability.
- Create and maintain a positive, safe, inclusive and productive learning environment, managing behaviour in line with school policy.
- Monitor pupil progress, give effective feedback, record and report on student achievement.
- Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, other teachers, school leaders, parents/carers and external professionals as necessary.
- Maintain professional standards as required, including safeguarding, health & safety, continuous professional development (CPD) and compliance with school policies.
- Adapt quickly to different school settings, including following different school routines, curricula and policies.
The successful candidate:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, ECTs are welcome to apply.
- Recent experience teaching in a primary school setting.
- A minimum of 6 months UK experience teaching in UK schools.
- A thorough knowledge of the UK national curriculum and how to teach it effectively.
- Excellent classroom management skills, with the ability to motivate pupils and maintain high standards of behaviour.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; able to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
- Adaptable, resilient and able to step into varied school contexts.
