We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated Computer Science Teacher to join a forward-thinking secondary school in Wakefield. This is a fantastic opportunity for a teacher who is passionate about technology, programming, and developing students’ computational thinking skills.

The role is ideal for someone looking for a long-term assignment where they can make a lasting impact as there is a permanent opportunity. The role is full time, due to start September 2026.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Computer Science lessons across KS3, KS4, and KS5 (including GCSE and A-Level where applicable)
  • Deliver practical programming, algorithms, and software development lessons
  • Support students in developing digital literacy, coding skills, and problem-solving abilities
  • Monitor and assess student progress and provide constructive feedback
  • Contribute to curriculum development and departmental initiatives
  • Encourage participation in extracurricular activities such as coding clubs, competitions, and tech projects
  • Maintain high standards of behaviour and classroom management

Candidate Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification
  • Strong subject knowledge in Computer Science, ICT, and programming languages (Python, Java, or similar)
  • Experience teaching up to GCSE and/or A-Level Computer Science preferred
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills
  • Passion for fostering student engagement and success in technology
  • Enhanced DBS certificate (or willingness to obtain one)
  • A minimum of 6 months experience teaching in UK schools.
