Maze Recruitment Group are currently supporting a client based in Leeds who are looking for a SEND Teacher who will be working with a small group of pupils, teaching Mathematics and English to pupils with a long-term Education, Health and Care Plan (EHPC).

Our client is looking for a SEND Teacher to cover a long-term role starting ASAP working full time, Monday – Friday in Leeds.

The Role:

  • Be responsible for the planning, preparation, delivering lessons to small groups or on a 121 basis and marking.
  • Be comfortable working with children with additional needs and challenging behaviour.
  • Be empathetic and creative in your approach to managing the learning of sometimes hard to reach learners and be dedicated to making a difference.
  • You will be working with a small group of vulnerable young people who need a safe, stable, and nurturing environment.

Requirements:

  • Have experience working with SEND pupils.
  • Have experience working with children with Autism and a range severe and complex learning difficulties.
  • QTS (qualified teacher status).
  • Proven track record of working with children with challenging behaviour, ASD and PMLD.
  • Strong SEND experience
  • Excellent classroom control and behaviour management
  • Excellent teaching ability
