Cover Supervisors

Maze Education has an urgent need for Cover Supervisors to work in Wakefield, and surrounding areas.

We want to hear from you if you are:

• An experienced Cover Supervisor.
• An experienced Sports Coach.
• A Maths, Science or English Graduate.
• An Unqualified Teacher
• A graduate looking for experience before embarking upon PGCE or teaching career.
• An experienced Teacher or Instructor looking for work as a Cover Supervisor.

Cover Supervisors play a vital role in schools and the role should not be taken lightly, but this can be a rewarding job and valuable experience in the classroom for those with teaching ambitions. Cover Supervisors predominantly work in Secondary schools, their main job is to manage a classroom, ensuring that students remain on task with the work they have been set whilst creating a sensible but fun and interesting study environment. You will act as an unqualified teacher delivering the lessons the teacher has planned. Although we will prioritise your subject knowledge you may be required to cover a range of subjects throughout the day. The main responsibility is to keep the class under control and the students on task, engaging with them and supporting them with their learning.

You may be sent to a different school each day, which is great in terms of obtaining valuable and varied experience, or you may be sent to the same school each day. 

If you have a passion for working with children, the confidence to teach a class and engage in student learning with pre-prepared lesson plans and the ability to get a classroom under control with good behaviour management skills, then we would love to hear from you.
